Oh, those basketball fellas in the British League, you know, they runnin’ and jumpin’ all over the place. Big fellas, small fellas, all tryin’ to throw that ball into the hoop. It’s a sight, I tell ya, a real sight.
Now, they got all sorts of teams, like London L. and all that. See, this London L. fella, he’s a point guard, PG they call him, number 188. He’s the one with the ball most of the time, dribblin’ and passin’ and tryin’ to make somethin’ happen. Gotta be quick on your feet for that job.
They say there’s a whole bunch of these players, like 55 pages worth! Imagine that! All them fellas playin’ their hearts out. Some seasons they got more players, some less. Like, 2022-2023, 2021-2022, all them different years. They keep changin’ things up, keep you on your toes, you know?
And the stats! Lord, they got stats for everything! How fast they run, how many points they score, all sorts of numbers. They call it Pace Adjusted, Qualified, all that fancy talk. Makes my head spin, but I guess it matters to them fellas.
This year, they say eight of ’em are playin’ right here in the UK. Stayin’ close to home, ain’t that somethin’? And some fellas, they go off to that NBA in America. Big leagues over there, they say. Like that Jeremy Sochan fella and that OG Anunoby from London. But most of ’em, they stick around here, playin’ for the British BBL.
- Thinkin’ about those salaries, too. They say the teams got a cap, you know, a limit on how much they can pay. 250,000 pounds, that’s a lot of money, ain’t it? Divide that by 12 players, and each fella gets about 20,000. Not bad, not bad at all.
- And the ladies, don’t forget the ladies! They got their own British League too. Runnin’ and jumpin’ just like the fellas. Good for them, I say.
So, these British Basketball League players, they keep us entertained, don’t they? Runnin’ up and down, shootin’ that ball. Gives you somethin’ to watch, somethin’ to cheer for. And who knows, maybe one of these days, one of them British fellas will be the biggest star in the whole wide world. Stranger things have happened, I tell ya.
