Okay so yesterday I tried to track this Canada versus France basketball game live. Wanted to catch the score updates and player stats without sitting through the whole thing. Figured it couldn’t be that hard right?
How I Started Tracking
First I grabbed my laptop and tablet – wanted to compare sources. Opened Google and just searched “Canada France basketball live”. Boom tons of sites popped up. Clicked three different ones that looked legit. All promised real-time stats and player heat maps. Cool.
Started noticing problems almost immediately:
- The damn scores weren’t syncing – one site showed Canada up by 5 while another had them tied
- Player stats looked copy-pasted – same generic descriptions for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Rudy Gobert across multiple sites
- Supposed “live” updates froze – stared at “Q3 8:23” for like ten actual minutes on one site
Player Stat Hunt
Really wanted to see Batum’s rebounds for France. Refreshed like crazy across all tabs. Finally one site listed him at 7 rebounds early in Q4. Next refresh? Stats disappeared. Just showed points and fouls. Total joke.
Meanwhile kept checking Kelly Olynyk’s assists for Canada. One site said 4 assists. Another said 2. Another said “stats unavailable”. Made zero sense.
What Actually Worked (Sort Of)
Gave up and pulled out my phone. Found a sports app that at least kept consistent scoring – Canada won 95-85 according to it. Stats were basic but didn’t glitch out:
- Shai: 22 points
- Gobert: 18 points
- Turnovers: France 12, Canada 8
No minute-by-minute breakdowns though. And zero info on defensive plays or shot charts they kept advertising.
Aftermath Thoughts
Took me 40 minutes to piece together what should’ve taken 5. Feels like these live trackers scrape the same broken data feeds. Might as well wait for the damn post-game report next time. Less headache.
