Was gonna surprise my kid with tickets to a Saints game this weekend, but man, couldn’t for the life of me remember when they played next. Knew I had the schedule somewhere… probably buried in old emails or crumpled flyers. Total chaos. Grabbed my laptop, coffee steaming hot, ready to dig in.
Tried the usual spots first. Opened my email, typed “Dubuque Saints schedule” in the search bar. Scrolled… and scrolled. Nothing but pizza coupons and shipping notifications. Seriously, who needs that many emails? Annoying. Went through my desk drawer next. Found grocery lists, receipts from three years ago, and a lone hockey puck. But the schedule? Ghosted me. Knew it had to be online.
Opened my browser. Typed “Dubque Saints hockey” – yep, misspelled it. Got some weird results about actual saints and some place in France. Tried again, “Dubuque Saints Hockey SCHEDULE” this time. Boom. Couple options popped up. Didn’t click the first one – looked sketchy, some random ad thing. Went for the one that seemed like the team’s actual site. Hit enter.
Found it! Was right there on their site, under “Schedule” or maybe “Team Info”. The page loaded… kinda slow, honestly. Saw the list finally. Home games, away games, dates and times all jumbled together. Needed the important ones, the rival games or weekend matinees my kid likes. Scanned the dates:
- October 12th vs. Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (HOME) – 7:05 PM. Big one, my kid hates Cedar Rapids.
- November 2nd vs. Waterloo Black Hawks (AWAY) – 3:05 PM. Perfect Saturday game.
- December 15th vs. Chicago Steel (HOME) – 6:05 PM. School break, maybe surprise him then.
Jotted these key game times and locations down on a sticky note. Didn’t trust myself to remember. “Mystic Ice Arena” for home, “Young Arena” for Waterloo… wrote it big so I wouldn’t mess it up later. Stuck the note right on my monitor. Done deal.
Felt good… till I realized tickets for the Steel game might already be tricky. Coffee was cold by then. Just how it goes! One win at a time.
