Okay, so I’ve been wanting to spice up my living room for a while, and being a huge Ohio State football fan, I thought, “Why not combine my love for art and the Buckeyes?” Thus began my quest for the perfect Ohio State football paintings.
First, I scoured the internet. I typed in everything from “Ohio State football art” to “Brutus Buckeye paintings.” I must have looked at hundreds of images. Some were pretty generic, others were… well, let’s just say they weren’t my style.
The Search Begins
- I started with the obvious, just some basic searches to get an idea of what was out there.
- I found a ton of prints, which were okay, but I really wanted something original, something with texture.
Then, I decided to get a little more specific. I focused my searches on original oil paintings. That narrowed things down, but it also meant a higher price tag. Gotta weigh the options, right?
I spent hours browsing, seriously, hours. My wife even started joking that I was spending more time looking at paintings than watching actual football!
Narrowing it Down
I finally found a couple of artists whose styles I really liked. One did these amazing, almost impressionistic paintings of the stadium, all swirling colors and energy. Another focused on portraits of legendary players, really capturing their intensity.
I reached out to both artists, asked about pricing and commissions. One was way out of my budget (sadly), but the other was surprisingly reasonable. We chatted back and forth a bit, I sent him some reference photos, and we agreed on a size and a price.
The Finished Product!
It took a few weeks, but it was worth the wait. The artist sent me a photo of the finished painting, and I was blown away. It was a dynamic scene of a game-winning touchdown, with the crowd going wild. He really captured the excitement of the moment.
When the painting finally arrived, I was even more impressed. The colors were even more vibrant in person, and the texture of the oil paint added so much depth. I immediately hung it up in my living room, and it’s become the focal point of the space.
So, yeah, that’s the story of how I ended up with my awesome Ohio State football painting. It was a bit of a process, but definitely worth it. Now, every time I look at it, I’m reminded of all those incredible game-day moments. Go Bucks!
