Okay so last Tuesday I really wanted to catch the Harvard hockey game this weekend, right? Totally blanked on when and where it was happening. Figured it had to be simple, but you know how these college websites can be sometimes. Grabbed my phone while eating breakfast.
First Try Was A Mess
Jumped on my phone browser and just typed “Harvard hockey schedule” like anyone would. Got a bunch of results – news articles from last season, some random ticketing sites selling seats for games months away, even the league standings. Nothing showing this weekend’s game. Super annoying. Felt like I was digging through junk.
Finally Found the Goldmine
Scrolled past a few more junk links and saw one for “Harvard University Athletics – Official Site”. Clicked that. Landed on their sports homepage – busy as heck! Football, basketball, you name it. Found the main menu button – those three little lines – and tapped it. Scrolled down… down… past all the sports. And there it was: “Men’s Ice Hockey”. Bingo!
Clicked “Men’s Ice Hockey”. New page loads. Looked kinda the same, honestly. Lots of news and pics. Needed the dang schedule. Scanned the top menu – saw “Schedule”. Thank god! Hit that.
- Whole season pops up! Dates, times, locations.
- Looked for THIS WEEK. Scanned fast. Saw “Sat, Jan 13th” – that’s the one! Against Yale at home. 7 PM. Bright-Landry Hockey Center.
- Weird dropdown menus above let you pick different seasons or sports, but just ignored those.
Almost Screwed It Up Too
Scrolled down on my phone screen to see if there were more notes. Accidentally tapped a different date – took me to an old game page from October. Panicked a bit! Hit the back button. Found the little “List View” and “Month View” tabs near the top. Month view looked cleaner – just games laid out in a calendar. Stuck with that.
So, Here’s the Simple Breakdown
- Go straight to the official Harvard Athletics website.
- Smash that menu button (the three lines).
- Hunt down “Men’s Ice Hockey” in the list.
- On the hockey page, click “Schedule” RIGHT THERE in the main menu.
- Scan that schedule list like your weekend plans depend on it (because they kinda do!).
- Use Month View for less clutter if you hate lists.
Seriously, it took longer to explain it than to actually do it once I figured it out. But yeah, don’t waste time Googling. Go right to the source. Now I just gotta remember to grab my big scarf and get there early. Go Crimson! Hope this saves someone else the morning scramble I had.
