You know what? I had a really fun time playing tennis at Colgate the other day. I’ve been trying to get more into sports lately, and I heard good things about Colgate’s athletic facilities, so I thought, why not give it a shot?
So, I went to check it out. First off, I had to figure out where to go. This place is huge! Eventually, I found the tennis courts. They looked pretty nice, well-maintained and all that stuff. I’m not exactly a pro or anything, so I was a bit nervous about jumping right in.
I started by just hitting the ball against the wall, you know, the usual beginner stuff. I was just trying to get a feel for it, and slowly but surely, I started to get the hang of it. It was actually pretty fun! The more I played, the more I wanted to keep going.
After a while, I got a bit more confident and decided to try out a few serves. Man, it’s harder than it looks! My first few attempts were pretty bad, I won’t lie, some went flying off in random directions, some barely made it over the net. It was a bit embarrassing. But hey, everyone starts somewhere, right?
But I kept at it, and after a few tries, I started to get the hang of it. I even managed to get a few decent serves in a row. It felt pretty good to see some improvement, even if it was just a little bit. I can totally see how people get hooked on this game. The feeling of hitting the ball just right and watching it fly over the net is pretty satisfying.
I spent a couple of hours there, just practicing and having a good time. I even managed to have a little rally with some guy. The weather was perfect, the courts were nice, and the whole experience was just really enjoyable.
Here’s what I did:
- Found the tennis courts.
- Warmed up by hitting against the wall.
- Practiced some serves.
- Played a little.
- Had a great time overall.
I’m definitely going to go back again soon. I think I might even try to find a coach or someone to play with regularly. Who knows, maybe I’ll actually get good at this tennis thing someday! Anyway, if you’re ever in the area and looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon, I highly recommend checking out the tennis courts at Colgate. It is a pretty good place to play. Even if you’re a complete beginner like me, it is still fun.

I heard that there are some high school players who are interested in playing for Colgate. I guess they have a pretty good tennis program or something. I wish them all the best!
