Alright, so you wanna know about this Noble & Greenough hockey, huh? Okay, okay, I’ll tell ya what I know. It ain’t much, but it’s somethin’. Don’t expect no fancy words from me, I just talk plain.
First off, they got this team, see? A hockey team. Boys playin’ on the ice with them sticks and that little black thing they chase around. They call ‘em the Crimson sometimes, or the Bulldogs. Sounds fierce, don’t it? Like a bunch of angry dogs on ice. Heck, I wouldn’t wanna get in their way, that’s for sure.
Now, this team, they ain’t just playin’ in some ol’ cow pasture. They play in a real fancy place, somethin’ called the Bright Hockey Center. Sounds like a big deal, in Boston, they say. Heard it’s a big city, lots of people, lots of noise. Not like here, where the only noise is the rooster crowin’ and the cows mooin’.
This here hockey team, they’ve been skatin’ around for a long, long time. Since like, 1898! Can you believe that? That’s way before I was even born, and let me tell ya, that was a long time ago. So, they been at it for a while, these boys. Must be pretty good, I reckon.
They got this league they play in too, somethin’ called the ECAC Hockey. And another one, the ISL, Keller Division they call it. Lots of letters, makes my head spin. But it just means they play against other schools, other teams. Tryin’ to be the best, I guess. Like who can hit that puck the hardest and score the most goals. Boys will be boys, always gotta be competin’.
- Team Name: They go by Crimson or Bulldogs, tough sounding names, eh?
- Where they play: Bright Hockey Center, in that big city Boston.
- Been around since: A long, long time, like way back in 1898!
- Leagues: ECAC Hockey and ISL Keller Division, whatever those are. Sounds important.
They got this school too, this Noble & Greenough School. Sounds like a place for rich folks, if you ask me. They teach ‘em good, I hear, and they teach ‘em hockey too. Prob’ly got all kinds of fancy equipment, not like the old sticks we used to use back in the day. Them things were heavy, I tell ya.
This coachin’ fella, he says he wants the boys to learn skills and have fun. That’s good, I reckon. Ain’t no point in playin’ if you ain’t havin’ fun. But learnin’ skills is important too. Gotta know how to skate, how to shoot, how to pass. And how to knock someone on their butt without gettin’ in trouble, I guess. That’s hockey for ya.
They got a schedule too, these boys. Plays games all over the place. Sometimes at home, sometimes away. I seen somethin’ about a game in Dedham, and another one in Weston. Places I ain’t never been to, but they sound nice enough. Prob’ly got more concrete than we got around here, that’s for sure.
And they keep track of all sorts of stuff, too. Like who scored the most goals, who got the most assists, who spent the most time sittin’ in the penalty box. Stats, they call ‘em. I don’t know much about that, but it sounds like they like keepin’ records of everything. Guess it helps ‘em figure out who’s good and who needs to practice more.
So, there ya have it. That’s what I know about Noble & Greenough hockey. It’s a team of boys who play hockey, they play in a fancy place, they’ve been playin’ for a long time, and they try to win games. Sounds simple enough, don’t it? But I bet it’s a whole lot more complicated than that. Just like life, I guess.
Address: 10 Campus Dr, Dedham, MA 02026-4099. Fancy address if you ask me
Anyways, that’s all I got for ya. Hope it helps. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed the chickens.
